ESG

A Greener, Better and Smarter Place

We are committed to ensuring our shopping centre meets the changing needs of the diverse communities in which we exist, while also operating in the most sustainable and responsible way possible.

Net Zero Carbon Committee

The Net Zero Carbon Committee meet every month to review progress on our journey towards net zero. In these meetings the team discuss utility usage and how we can reduce our consumption without affecting our service to our community. We are always looking at ways to do things better and more efficiently and work hard to improve the working culture and consider all our actions and activities.

The team make ESG pledges and everyone’s annual performance review has objectives specifically looking at ESG.  The centre does create waste and we work hard to maximise any recyclable products and reduce the amount of general waste that is left, but rest assured it never goes to landfill. We use systems and processes including the Building Management Systems (BMS) to manage energy consumption and reduce the amount of time our pumps, air handling units and other plant is used.

Find Out More About Our Community Initiatives

The Mall Luton sits in the very heart of the town – and the very centre of our community. It’s an important place to be and that’s why we’re involved with some special local initiatives.

As an integral part of the local community, we’re committed to supporting community living and we do this in a number of ways. From the Community Hub located in the centre providing easy access to a variety of NHS services, to our support for local charities and community groups,  and working with local schools, the Council, Luton BID and organisations like Love Luton.
